4th Grade Happenings "Life Structures"

The 'Structure of Life Module' consists of 4 sequential investigations dealing with observable characteristics of organisms.  Students observed, compared, categorized, and cared for their organisms, and in so doing they learned to identify properties of plants and animals and to sort and group them on basis of observable properties.

Fourth grade students investigated and learned how some of the structures functioned in growth and survival.  Activities students investigated and observed:  (1 ) Properties of seeds and fruits and growing plants in soil and water (hydroponically),  (2) Observation of the Bess Beetle, (3) Crayfish and recording their territorial behavior, and (4) Snails.
