Fair and Career Fair Opportunities
Thayer Central students have the opportunity each year to attend our college fair and career fairs in the area. Thayer Central hosted their annual college fair on Wednesday, September 24th. Over 150 juniors and seniors from Thayer County and beyond attended as well as some parents. There were over 40 college representatives and military recruiters on hand to visit with the students and their parents as well as a brief presentation on financial aide.
Sophomores and freshmen will be attending career fairs in the month of October. The career fairs give students a glimpse of different careers they may be interested in and an opportunity to ask questions of professionals in their field of interest. Sophomores will be attending Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kansas on October 2nd and the freshmen will be on the Central Community College Campus on October 7th. Juniors will be attending a fair in the spring at Southeast Community College – Beatrice. Seniors are encouraged to visit career professionals one on one this year by job shadowing. Another great benefit to the students attending the career fairs is that they get to experience different college campuses and see what a college campus is like.
