Titans Junior High Defeats Superior
The Thayer Central Titans junior high football team closed out
their season in winning fashion with a 33-8 victory over the host
Superior Wildcats on Monday night. The victory finished off the
young Titans season at a perfect 4-0. The Titans utilized a
bruising ground attack and once again played lights out
defensively.
The running back duo of Macauley Mumm and Kalen Wenske once again led the Titans offense. Mumm scored three touchdowns on runs of 70, 28 and 2 yards out, while Wenske was responsible for two scores, a 28 yarder and a 63 yard jaunt, as well as one two point conversion run. Mumm also booted one extra point.
Defensively, the Titans front five of Cody Mumm, Brian Loontjer, Dietrich Brinegar, Macaulay Mumm and Kalen Wenske controlled the line of scrimmage the entire game. Corner Gregory Dightman added one interception to the Titans efforts. The young Titans defense allowed only two touchdowns the entire season.
