Thirteen students from Thayer Central High School were inducted as new members of the National Honor Society in a special ceremony held on February 11, 2021. Members were selected by the chapter’s faculty council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Students inducted were Taylor Broers, Sydney Escritt, Cassandra Hergott, Takaylynn Hergott, AnnaMae Howe, Jayme Huhman, Kinsley Kugel, Megan Lukert, Brenner McLaughlin, Kaisha Solomon, Treyton Waldmeier, Madelynn Wells, and Jasa Wiedel.
New inductees joined current NHS members Cooper Casey, Alanna Fangmeier, Brennan Harms, Chloe Hintz, Andrew Landsmann, Kelby Mumm, Chloe Souerdyke, and Buchannan Tietjen.
Following the ceremony, co-advisor Jeremy Jones commented, “I am so thankful every day that I get to work with such a great group of young men and women here at Thayer Central. This group exemplifies the best of what this school offers.”
The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students. There are chapters in more than 16,000 high schools and, since 1921, millions of students have been selected for membership.
