The 2nd graders enjoyed a trip to the Hastings Museum. Highlights of their trip were a 3D IMAX butterfly movie, the Planetarium, and the Nature Nook. They were amazed by all the exhibits.

On Friday, Thayer Central hosted their Athletic and Activities Banquet. The evening concluded with the Coronation of Sports Queen and King. Congratulations to this year's Queen Natalie and King Nate!

Due to the extreme severe weather forecasted to hit the Thayer County area during regular dismissal hours, Thayer Central Community Schools will dismiss at 2:30PM this afternoon. Bus routes will run immediately after school. If any parent feels more comfortable picking up their own children before that time, please do so. Parents who are making special arrangements for their children are asked to contact the school with any special instructions. All evening activities will be postponed due to the potential for high winds, severe thunderstorms and potential tornado activity. Again, School will dismiss at 2:30 today because of the severe weather warnings.

TC juniors Kara, Libby, Halle and Adam were honored by the Fairbury Elks Lodge for their academic success. Seniors Christian, Bradley, Ella and Tara were also recognized but unable to attend due to Baccalaureate.
We will celebrate our students academic success on Monday, May 6th at 7pm in the Event Center. We are watching tomorrow's weather and will make a decision on this event after tomorrow's weather webinar. We will make a decision for the safety of our students, staff and parents.
