🌎 HAPPY EARTH DAY 🌎 Kindergarten talked about different ways we can take care of the Earth! One way is to pick up trash! We spent our afternoon walking around the school and track picking up all the trash we could see!
To celebrate Earth Day first grade walked down to the park and picked up trash. 🌎

What do chickens, tape, insurance and measuring cups have in common? They are tools used for careers. The career fair was held on Thursday at the elementary. Students learned about different skills, interests, tools and activities in different careers.

Pre-School had a very exciting week! They started Monday night by signing their letters of intent to attend Kindergarten. Then they had an eventful day at Kindergarten round up today with pet themed activities, which included adopting their own pet! We think this group is Kindergarten ready!
Day 1 of District Music Contest is complete! Good luck to all 73 band and choir students making music on Friday in Fairbury!

Congratulations to Jedric Dankenbring for being selected as Student of the Week by Ol' Red 99.5!
These 2nd graders were happy for a TREAT with three states of matter. A float has a solid (ice cream), liquid (soda), and gas (bubbles floating on top). A sweet treat for these sweet second graders in Miss Wiedel's class.
The Golf Meet schedule for Thursday, April 18th at Fairbury has been postponed until Friday, April 19th. It'll be a 9:00 start time.
Today's High School Track and Field Invite at Superior has been POSTPONED due to incoming wind and rain.
Fire truck rides for these students for being state champions at Skills USA. Thank you to the HVFD for doing this for the students.
Thayer Central Students Had An Excellent Showing At The Eastern Nebraska Schools State Speech Contest Today! Laiden Heinrichs Earned 1st Place For His Speech And Brynn Marsh Earned 2nd Place For Her Speech! Laik Heinrichs Also Was A State Speech Qualifier! Thayer Central Was Also Awarded The First Place School Trophy! Great Work Students!
First Grade completed their CKLA unit on Fairytales. We celebrated by having Royalty Day where we read through fairy tale scripts, and solved fairy tale math word problems dealing with time. Students were assigned roles, worked hard on backdrops and performed their fairytale plays for the kindergarten classes. 👑
